About

John is the founder and President of Zachar Architecture, a full service architecture firm established in 2000. The majority of his work focuses on housing in Chicago neighborhoods where he seeks to find the highest and best result for his clients. A veteran of designing and making buildings, John’s expertise includes managing mixed use, mid-rise and high-rise building projects and real estate development. He was an early contributor to the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities building code committee. More recently he was a member of the 47th Ward Zoning Advisory Council. John is a licensed architect, a holder of Self-Certification status with the City of Chicago and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He has 3 sons.
